Seller Product Rules

BRITBUY is a controlled marketplace for approved business sellers. These rules protect customers, the platform, and sellers who operate professionally.

Who Can Sell

BRITBUY currently accepts business sellers only. Seller accounts are reviewed manually before product listing access is enabled.

  • Sellers must provide accurate business and contact details.
  • Sellers must only submit products they are legally allowed to sell.
  • Sellers must keep stock, descriptions, images, and fulfilment information accurate.
  • BRITBUY may approve, reject, suspend, or remove sellers and products at any time to protect customers and platform standards.

Seasonal products

Seasonal and giftable products that are safe, compliant, accurately described, and suitable for marketplace sale.

Prohibited Products

  • No counterfeit goods: counterfeit, replica, stolen, misleading, or intellectual-property-infringing products are not allowed.
  • No unsafe products: recalled, defective, untested, non-compliant, or incorrectly labelled products are not allowed.
  • No age-restricted products: alcohol, tobacco, vapes, knives, weapons, fireworks, solvents, and similar restricted goods are not allowed.
  • No medicines or regulated medical products: medicines, prescription products, medical devices, or health-claim products are not allowed unless BRITBUY has explicitly approved the category and evidence.
  • No food or perishables: food, drink, supplements, perishables, and products requiring food-business compliance are not allowed unless BRITBUY opens that category separately.
  • No hazardous goods: dangerous chemicals, hazardous materials, restricted batteries, flammable items, and shipping-risk products are not allowed.
  • No adult or illegal content: adult, explicit, offensive, illegal, or deceptive products are not allowed.

Manual Review Categories

Some categories may be allowed only after BRITBUY checks compliance evidence, safety information, supplier proof, or brand authenticity.

Seller Responsibilities

  • Product titles, descriptions, images, stock levels, prices, and claims must be accurate.
  • Products must be safe, legal, correctly labelled, and suitable for UK consumers.
  • Sellers must provide compliance evidence, invoices, supplier proof, safety documents, or authenticity proof when requested.
  • Sellers must not upload products that require special licensing, age verification, regulated sale controls, or hazardous shipping unless BRITBUY has approved the category in writing.
  • BRITBUY product approval does not remove the seller's responsibility for product legality, safety, and accuracy.
